Q&A: Health Insurance coverage at Sears in Illinois?

in Health Insurance

Question by jjjjj: Health Insurance coverage at Sears in Illinois? Does anyone work at Sears in Illinois with health insurance? Do they cover infertility treatments and if so how much? Best answer:

I don’t work with them but I administered coverage for my prior employer and usually discussed best practices and such with our benefits broker. Unfortunately my experience has been that most emplooyer plans don’t offer coverage for infertility treatments. If Sears has a flexible spending plan (FSA), this is money that you decide you’d like to put aside each year towards medical/dental expenses. For instance, your employer may cap your FSA allowance at 00 per year, you’d receive the money on a visa card and could use it for medical expenses only such as prescriptions, co-pays, etc. I’d check with them to see whether one of the expenses you’re allowed to use the funds for is infertility treatments. FYI, the 00 would come out in equal increments over the 1 year period you’re enrolled in the plan. Additionally, your employer doesn’t decide what items are covered, this is generally decided by the government as FSA’s are generally pre-tax monies. Check with your HR or benefits person and have them check this for you. Good luck!
